Music Composition

Michael is available to compose and produce soundtracks for films, shorts, television, or advertisements.

He recently completed the Composing and Orchestrating for Film and TV certificate program at the Berklee School of Music in Boston (online).

In terms of rock and pop compositions, Michael’s most recent release “A Walk in the Forest” is dedicated to his daughter, and features Adam Blankman and Rose Armin-Hoiland (vocals), Robbie Dunbar (guitar), Scott Urquhart (bass), and Jasper Gill (drums). Michael’s “Blues for Lazarus” CD features original compositions based on favorite science fiction and fantasy stories, and features Bay Area and Los Angeles performers including Tom Valdez, Dave Weckl, Dave Koz, Dan Petruzzella, Rick Ellis, Gary Meek, Rob Fordyce, Michael Oliver, Glenn Harris, and Brad McKeague.

In addition, Michael is a composer of Jewish music, a founding member of the Max Helfman Institute for New Jewish music. He has composed pieces for synagogue liturgy, as well as compositions featured in concert settings.
